I Kissed A Girl And I Disliked It || Clades

Hades: kissed her back, glad everything was all good. It took a huge load off his chest. Smiling at her, he said softly "Thank you, Cleo. That means a lot to me." Glancing down at their sleeping child, he pulled her out of the room and shut the door quietly behind them. Pinning her against the door, he kissed her again before asking "So, Mrs. Olympe, what is it you want most right now?"
Cleo: nodded at him, allowing herself to be pulled out, clapping a hand over her mouth to stifle the giggles that bubbled out of her lips. Kissing him back, she offered a small smile, hating what she had to do next. "Just kiss my husband. You know the rules. They said nine weeks for me."

Hades: listened intently. So she already knew? And she wasn't mad? That was a huge relief. Letting out the breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, he stood up with her, walking next to her and standing behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist as they looked down at their son. Kissing her cheek, he said "You're not? Why? I mean, I'm not complaining, I'm just curious. But yes, love, I'm sorry, but you're absolutely horrible at being mean. It's rather sweet, actually."
Cleo: smiled, putting her hands over his. She turned her head to kiss his lips. "I'm not upset because I've still got you here. I do trust you Hades. I trust you both, actually. Drunken mistakes happen all the time. I've had my fair share of them too. And you know, because I trust you, I can find joy in knowing that was the last time she'll be kissing you, and that I still get to kiss you all I want." She grinned devilishly, trying her best not to burst out into giggles.

Hades: chuckled as she blew a raspberry, grinning down at his son. His son. He still couldn't get over that. Reaching a hand out to softly brush his son's head, he said "Then let me take him so that you can go get some sleep." He grimaced when she asked if everything was alright. Shaking his head, he said "I'm afraid not, Cleo. I went over to Marie's dorm cause she wasn't feeling great, wanted some company, and she had...well, she had A LOT to drink. And she kissed me. I didn't kiss her back, I pulled away as soon as it happened, but I felt you should know. And then I was heading home and she called me, she'd fallen out of her window or something, I'm still not sure how it happened, but I went back and got her to a hospital. I'm sorry, you know I love you, and if I could have stopped her before she kissed me, I would have, but I didn't realize that was what she was doing until her lips touched mine. Sorry Cleo..."
Cleo: sighed, biting her lip. "I know. I just got off the phone with her. I may or may not have flipped but not because you kissed her. We got in a bit of a spat. She said I had the perfect life and was being really mean so I got mad and said she wasn't fit to be a godmother right then and then I felt super guilty because I didn't MEAN it. So I took it back and told her I'd bring her soup and cookies tomorrow..." She took a breath, grinning a bit at how silly it was. "I guess I'm not so good at being mean..." Slowly standing, she walked over to the crib and placed Nathan down in it. "But really, I'm not mad. Not one bit."

Hades: was relieved when he heard her voice calling back. Good, she was still awake. Following the voice into Nathan's room, he smiled softly as he saw that she was holding Nathan. Walking over to her, he knelt down beside her and kissed her cheek, asking softly "How's he doing? Was it the cough again?"
Cleo: managed a small smile when he kissed her, running a hand through her hair. "Yeah, he's been up almost all night...so you know, so have I." She blew a raspberry, and made a silly face when Nathan looked up at her. Still, she was insanely tired. Half of her wanted to hand off her son and go to sleep, but the other half knew that if she moved he'd flip out again. "Everything alright?"

Hades: needed to tell Cleo about what happened. He hoped she wouldn't be too mad about it, he had pulled back as soon as Marie had kissed her, but he still felt that he needed to tell Cleo. He wanted this marriage to work out, he wanted it desperately. Walking into the apartment, he called out softly "Cleo?" He didn't know if she'd still be awake, and he didn't want to wake Nathan up, but he really needed to tell her.
Cleo: was a bit of a mess. Getting mad at Marie had left her exhausted, and then of course...Nathan had woken up...coughing. His poor little nose was running and his coughs just racked his tiny form. She'd done everything. Called the doctor, rocked him, fed him...but it wasn't like they could do much. He was simply too young for medicine. Finally, he'd quieted down, and she was sitting in the rocking chair as he suckled her pinky. She'd been crying, a little overwhelmed, and worried, so her makeup ran down her face. The front door opened and closed. Must be Hades, finally home. With a sigh, she risked calling out. "In here!"
Delivered to Marie at the hospital along with chicken noodle soup, and tea, along with a short note.

Sorry I couldn’t drop by and give you these myself, but Nathan has a bit of a cold. Poor kiddo won’t stop coughing! Anyway, if you’re feeling up to it, bitch out a nurse to have her heat everything up. Stay strong, love.

Clarie Calls

Marie: felt utter defeat wash over her. She couldn't win. She couldn't be the biting, tough, Marie that was her armor because she loved Cleo and didn't want to fight with her. She couldn't be soft, vulnerable, Marie because it just got her hurt. She couldn't win. "FINE CLEO!" she said between a choked out sob. "You don't want me as your son's godmother then so be it! Then I don't want you as my friend!" She didn't mean that. She knew she didn't mean that so she just let herself shake and sob and feel drenched in self pity as she felt herself lose the final thing that she could say she loved.
Cleo: crossed her legs, feeling instantly guilty. "You don't mean that Marie. It'll be okay. It's just temporary. Until then... I dunno. Get better. Call Berlioz and Toulouse. I'll send soup and cookies tomorrow, yeah? I love you Maz, just remember that...okay?"

Clarie Calls

Marie: felt her eyes narrow at Cleo's tone. In truth her logical side knew she was being helpful or at least trying to be but Marie was never logical. She was impulsive and emotional and manic by nature. "The list of people who are can reprimand me is extremely short and let me tell you, I don't see your name written on it." Marie felt herself seethe with anger and hate. Maybe it was the pounding headache. Maybe it was the vulnerability. Either way Marie found herself growing more and more angry. "You need him? Fine! Take him, Cleo! I'm not stopping you! You already won! You already beat me! Perfect Cleopatra got her fairy-tale ending! Fucking, fine, Cleo! OKAY!?" She hadn't noticed how shrill her voice had gotten until she was done talking. Her chest rose and fell heavily at the effort of yelling.
Cleo: sighed, biting her lip. She hadn't once raised her voice in the call and she wasn't about to. "Well it should be, seeing as you're my son's godmother." A pause. "Actually, you might as well erase my name then, because as of right now, I'm not finding you very fit for the position." She sat up on the couch. "I'm sorry for this, but if you're calling me perfect, then I'd like you to take a look at things." Her thumb hovered over the end call button, but she was curious as to what Marie would say back.
